Green Polish

The Greens

Green is used for so many things throughout the year, and I apparently have the shade for every event. ¬†ūüôā ¬†Here are my greens!

Sally Girl DoupThis is Sally Girl¬†Doup. ¬†It is a muted grass green color. ¬†I used it once for a camo nail, and honestly, haven’t used it much since then. ¬†These little Sally Girl polishes are good for things like that though.

Glosstini AppletiniThis Covergirl Outlast Glosstini Appletini really is the color of a green apple.  It looks darker in the photo than it is on a sunny, spring day.  This makes for a nice accent nail more than a full manicure in my opinion.  But, for a nice spring accent, it is great!

Butter London Wellies

Butter London Wellies is a very bright, spring green. ¬†It almost looks yellow at times. ¬†I got this polish on clearance at T.J. Maxx, and was all excited thinking that a polish that costs $15 will be awesome to work with. ¬†Maybe it’s just the shade (light colors can be harder to work with sometimes) but I was not thrilled. ¬†It took a lot of coats, and was hard to make it not streaky. ¬†That said, it does make a nice background for a flower manicure.

China Glaze Turned Up TurquoiseChina Glaze¬†Turned Up Turquoise leans more toward the blue end of the green spectrum, and in the picture looks very blue. ¬†I promise it is a turquoise, greenish color in person. ¬†It isn’t bright enough to say it is neon, but is definitely a summer color. ¬†On its own it dries to a sort of satiny finish, as you can see in the swatch. ¬†I have a handful of China Glaze polishes, and find them a bit runny and hard to work with, but the colors (if you are patient enough) are typically worth it.

Funky Fingers Partly CloudyFunky Fingers Partly Cloudy is a beautiful, calm, teal color.  It is a color changing polish that really does work!  It changes to gray in the sunlight.  It goes on opaque in two coats and is easy to work with.  If you wanted to try color changing polishes, I would recommend the Funky Fingers.  I have a couple and they both work great!

Miracle Gel Super Charge

Super Charge is an appropriate name for this Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. ¬†It is a bright green, with a lot of shine. ¬†Something that did not show up in the picture is the pinky pearlescent shine that it has. ¬†It gives this polish a very unique look, and whenever I wear it, I get tons of compliments. ¬†I know that the Miracle Gels require the special top coat, but they do stay on really well if you are as hard on your manis as I am. ¬†ūüôā

Color Club Angel KissThis holographic polish by Color Club is called Angel Kiss.  It catches the light in such a stunning way, you may have to cover your fingers while driving.  If you are in a place without the light that will make the most of this polish, it is still a metallic looking green that is lovely.  It only needs two coats to be opaque and goes on really smoothly.

Wet n Wild Atten hutWet n Wild ATTEN hut is a dark, glittery green.  I like this one in the fall.  It goes on opaque in one coat, and makes for a quick, easy look if you are in a hurry.

Xtreme Wear SambaThis is a Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear jelly polish in Samba.  It has green and blue pearly hex glitters in it.  The polish is very thick and makes it a little tricky to spread evenly, but I like this color combo so much I make it work.  It is a great topper for so many things, and makes a great accent nail or two.

Xtreme Wear Jazzy JadeThis is another one that leans toward the blue end, but is a beautiful shade.  It is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Jazzy Jade.  I love, love, love this one for water marbeling.  It is GORGEOUS every time!  I have used it just to paint my nails, and it is one that goes on smoothly and quickly.  It has a bit of a shine to it, and is a great summer shade.   (though I have used it other times)

Xtreme Wear Mint SorbetAnother Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear for you! ¬†This one is¬†Mint Sorbet. ¬†This is a beautiful pastel green that is great for Easter, spring, and even summer looks. ¬†You do need about three coats to make it opaque, unless you have white underneath it. ¬†If you can’t tell, Sally Hansen is definitely my go to!

Parfumerie WintermintRevlon Parfumerie Wintermint is actually a bit lighter than it looks in the picture.  It is shiny green base with blue glitter in it.  It is kind of sheer, so you need quite a few coats to make it opaque.  It does actually smell minty though when it is dry!  I use this one for all kinds of things since the color is pretty basic, and mint is my favorite scent!  (Though, people probably will wonder about you if you sniff your fingers all day long.  LOLOL)

Xtreme Wear Tan LimeSally Hansen Xtreme Wear¬†Tan Lime is my basic green color. ¬†If you are going for just a crayon green, this is the one. ¬†Is is kind of sheer (if you can tell from the swatch) and takes a few coats to get all the way green. ¬†It is easy to work with, so even though you need a few coats, you don’t drive yourself cray doing it.

Triple Shine Sea Through

Sea Through is a Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish.  It is kind of jelly-ish, but not at the same time.  It looks great layered over other colors or in a watercolor look.

Zoya ChitaZoya Pixie Dust¬†Chita is a green, glittery polish that goes on in one coat and dries to a textured finish. ¬†The little sliver flecks in it makes it a gorgeous holiday shade! ¬†I really love the one coat thing, so I use it when I don’t have a good idea and just want some color on my nails.

China Glaze In the Lime LightChina Glaze¬†In the Lime Light is a very bright green with a blue sheen to it. ¬†It dries to a satin kind of finish. ¬†It is a bit thin, and does take quite a few coats to get opaque. ¬†If you are willing to work with it, you won’t be disappointed. ¬†It is a beautiful summer color!

Ulta JadedThis polish looks very green in the pic, but in life it reflects the light to show hints of blue and purple.  It is a very unique polish.  It goes on opaque in two-three coats and is fairly easy to work with.

Fresh Paint HoneydewIf it is possible to have a pastel neon, that is what Fresh Paint Honeydew would be.  It is this beautiful, mint ice cream color that I love in the spring and summer.  I really like that it is so bright without being neon.  It goes on smoothly and is opaque in two coats.

Sally Girl Spring GreenThis Sally Girl polish did not have a name on it, and I have been calling it Spring Green.  It is the quintessential spring color and is great for any spring look.

Sally Girl PeaceSally Girl Peace is a neon green.  It takes two-three coats to be solid.  It is very bright and makes for a great summer accent nail or full set of ten nails!

GOOD GRIEF! ¬†That’s a lot of green! ¬†Do you have a favorite green polish? ¬†Let me know.

Yellow Polish

The Yellows

Yellow Nail Polish

The Yellows

Yellow doesn’t seem to be a color that I have many of. ¬†Even looking at the few I have, I have two neons and two pretty basic yellows. ¬†Maybe it’s because I haven’t found a lot of yellow variety. ¬†Who knows. ¬†But, here’s what I have!

Zoya Piaf

Zoya¬†Piaf is a muted yellow. ¬†I like it because it isn’t really that sunshine WHOA! ¬†But it isn’t grungy looking either. ¬†It is a nice polish that shows up opaque in a couple coats. ¬†It has little flecks of glitter in it and those flecks cause it to almost have a pearly sheen. ¬†I have used this for looks all year long. ¬†The muted effect makes it so versatile.

Insta Dri Sizzlin' SaffronSally Hansen Insta Dri¬†Sizzlin’ Saffron is your basic yellow. ¬†It goes on opaque in two coats. ¬†If you are looking for that perfect primary yellow, I would suggest this one. ¬†It also works very well for water marbeling.

LA Colors FlickerThis is a bright, neon yellow by LA Colors called¬†Flicker. ¬†On its own, you need about three coats to make it opaque. ¬†I actually like to put down a white layer underneath, because it makes the neon pop right away. ¬†I like this one a lot in the summer, and tried it once for a water marble, but I wasn’t really thrilled with it. ¬†LA Colors can be found for $1, and they have an entire neon set. ¬†If you are interested in experimenting with neons, these would be a great way to do it.

Xtreme Wear Copa BananaWhile this polish does have black in it, I chose to categorize it with the yellows.  It is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Copa-Banana.  It is a jelly polish with black and yellow matte hex glitters.  I usually paint this over another color.  It can be a little difficult to work with, trying to spread out all of the pieces evenly.  The black and yellow work together nicely to add a little drama to a calmer look.

Orly Glowstick

Orly Glowstick is another neon polish.  It has a bit of a greenish hue, like some really neon yellows get.  This one takes at least four coats to make opaque, and I also like to put white underneath it to help with that.  This is one that is cute in the summer, especially for an accent nail.

Piggy Polish Yellow TherePiggy Polish Yellow There! is a very pastel yellow.  In the picture and swatch, it looks more like a neutral shade, but in person, you can tell that it is yellow.  This one is an Easter and spring go to for me.  Because of the light shade, it does take a few coats to get it all the way opaque.

Xtreme Wear Mellow YellowSally Hansen Xtreme Wear¬†Mellow Yellow is in between the Insta Dri and Piggy Polish above. ¬†It is not as pale or as bold, just a pleasant yellow. ¬†I love this one for water marbeling…it works every time. ¬†I also like to use it when I am in the mood for something bright, but not shocking.

Those are my yellows.  Do you use any of these, or do you have one that I need to add?  Let me know.
