Snowflake Stamps

Winter Nail Art

While some of the country is buried in snow, the rest of us have barely seen an inch.  We finally got a few flakes here, and I was ready to do a snowy look.

Color Club Holographic Polish

For this look, I used Color Club Blue Heaven, OPI Sheer Tints I Can Teal You Like Me, and Wet ‘n’ Wild Hallucinate.  There wasn’t enough sunshine to be able to tell, but the Color Club is a holo, and the Wet ‘n’ Wild is an iridescent glitter.  (I also used a white stamping polish that doesn’t have any brand.)

I began by painting all of my nails with one coat of Blue Heaven.  Then, I stamped my first layer of snowflakes.  Next, was a layer of the Sheer Tints, followed by more snowflakes, followed by Sheer Tints, then a final layer of snowflakes that were topped off by the glitter polish.

Bundle Monster Stamping Plates

I took turns experimenting with these plates and different stampers, so there are different snowflakes for every layer.  These plates are from Born Pretty, Bundle Monster, and Pueen.

The finished product was a frosty look that perfectly matched the frosty weather.  I hope you like!

Holo with a Jelly Twist

Holographic Nail Polish

I love, love, love holographic nail polish.  I cannot stop looking at it when I wear it.  I feel little to no need to add embellishments, which makes it a nice, quick application.  Really, I can’t find a whole lot of cons…except for how they all look alike.  I have a few Color Club holos, and they are different shades, but it is hard to tell.  Then, I had this stoke of genius.  🙂  Add a jelly!

Color Club Sally Hansen

For this mani, these are the two polishes I used.  First, I put on two coats of Color Club Cloud Nine, which is a pink/purple holo.  Then, I topped it with one coat of Sally Hansen Triple Shine Jell-ous?, which is a very sheer jelly polish, that also falls in that pink/purple zone.  The jelly did not take away any of the holo shine, but did enhance the color, especially when the sun wasn’t doing wonders on the polish.

Now, here are way too may pics.  Enjoy.

A little less light. Can you see how the jelly helps it look pink?

Summer Sparkle

You made it through all of the pics!  This was a super easy mani, yet it drew as much attention as any other.  Love it!

Brightening the Snowy Days

Holo Neon Nails

The weather has been frightful for a while, and with more impending doom this weekend (which is only worth it if I get a snow day on Monday *wink*) I was ready for some bright colors.

Color Club and Studs

For this look I used a Color Club holographic polish and neon studs.

Color Club Harp On It

Color Club Harp On It is a silver, holographic polish.  It is easy to apply evenly.  With two coats, I was completely covered.  And I tried to get in the sunshine to capture the shine.

Neon Nail Studs

The neon studs came from eBay, and there are circle and square studs.  I went with the circles this time around.

Holographic Nails

This turned out to be a very easy mani, and I like it more than I expected to.  Something about the way the holo catches the light is a big part of it, but the simple studs add just enough to keep it bright in the absence of sunlight.

Nail Studs

To attach the studs, all I needed was a spot of clear coat and a dotting tool to pick them up with.  I sealed the entire look with a clear top coat and was ready to go!  Here’s a couple other shots for you.

Amazon Holo Haul

I have tried to find the perfect holographic nail polish for a while.  In stores around me, there just wasn’t anything good.  It would be more chrome than anything.

Then, on Pinterest, I saw a Chanel holographic polish!  OH.  MY.  WORD.

Chanel Holo

Not my nails. Taken from Pinterest.

Turns out this whole holo craze is not so current.  And when I found any of this Chanel polish, the price was not an option.

Now that I knew that the perfect holo existed, I looked online for it.  This is also how I discovered Color Club.  This brand is not sold in stores near me, but they have the most beautiful holographic nail polishes!!!

I ordered some of them.  I couldn’t resist!

I got:

Harp On It, Angel Kiss, Cloud Nine, Cherubic, Halo-Graphic, Beyond, and Blue Heaven.  I tried to get a shot of them in the sun.

I slapped some on my nails, and tried to get some pics of them shining.  The sun is a little here and there today.

Without the light, these are just nice shades of polish.  IMG_1704

In the sun, they are so mesmerizing,  I am not sure I should wear them any time I am operating heavy machinery.  IMG_1706 IMG_1707

I hope that you are able to see some of the shining glory!  It’s not that easy to catch in an iPhone photo shoot.  🙂

I am loving these!  I don’t care if it was a craze two years ago.  I love it now!

I have already tried to stamp with them, and they work great with the plates.  Here’s a quick shot of a stamp on a bare nail.

The possibilities are endless!  Do you use holo polish?  Do you love it?  Do you care if you are behind on a trend?  Let me know what you think!

Toodles!
