Halloween Oops

Glowing Water Marble

I was going for what I thought was going to be a sweet Halloween water marble, and the base for some Halloween decals.  I didn’t exactly get what I had in mind, but I got a cute design for the week.

OPI Chrome

I painted all of my nails with this chrome base from OPI called Push and Shove.  It truly is chrome when it dries.  You can see your reflection in it.  But it is VERY finicky when it comes to getting it applied.  You want only one, smooth coat the first time.  Anytime you go back over it, it bubbles it up.

China Glaze Water Marble

I chose these three China Glaze polishes, and I was picturing them staying these shades for the Halloween color combo.  From left to right: In the Lime Light, Purple Panic, Pool Party.

When I marbled it, it looked a little more like a neon type of thing than Halloween.

Sinful Colors Glow in the Dark

Rather than use the Halloween decals on a look that didn’t match that, I topped it off with Sinful Colors Glow in the Dark, and a matte top coat.

I finished with a fun look, and was surprised by the fact that I could still see the colors of the polish under the glow polish.  I really though that that would just be a top layer once the lights were out, and the other colors wouldn’t stand out.

Hopefully a Halloween look works for me this week, and I hope your Halloween nails are coming together!  The ones I have seen have been gorgeous!

Let it Glow

Glow in the Dark Polish

This was a Halloween look, and I thought since I was so behind on posting I should just forget it, but I really liked it…so here it is almost a month later.  Let me say that the pictures do not do this polish justice at all.  It glowed REALLY brightly.

I used Claw Polish, I’m Here for the Boos!  (I think this may be the same company as Wet ‘n’ Wild.)  Claw Polish

In the light, it looked like a fairly neutral polish.  I did not mind wearing it, and I plan on using it outside of Halloween because I enjoyed it so much.

Halloween Nails

For the spider accents, I had some little gold guys that I put on there, and sealed it all up with a top coat.

Nail Art Spiders

A few comments…this was the first time I had used any of these little metal decals.  The spider legs didn’t want to stay down, so by the end of the week I had ripped most of them off.  I would form these to my nails ahead of time, next time.  Also, when I painted my nails with the glow polish, I used quite a few coats.  This gave it that neutral polish look in the light.  When I began with only one or two coats it was almost clear.  I am wondering how brightly it would glow with a couple coats, because I could layer that over anything, and no one would know until the lights went down.

I had a lot of fun with this!  Anyone else use glow in the dark polish?  Ideas?
