Neon Winter Nails

China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind

January is a month that I actually enjoy quite a bit.  I really like the snow.  But where I am, we haven’t had even one snowfall yet!  It makes it hard to get in the snowflake nail art mood.

Instead, I have a neon blue with a black, white, and holo topper as a neon winter look.

Formula X Meteoric

I began with painting all of my nails with China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind.  Then, I topped off my nails with Formula X Meteoric.  Meteoric has black and white matte glitters of different sizes along with  tiny holo glitters.  For a video to see this better, check out my Instagram!  @dontjudgemeokaynails

This went on really quick and wore nicely.  🙂  I am in love with the Formula X polish, and I wish the pics would have been better.  (When don’t I wish that?)

Goodbye 2015

This last quarter of the year has been really shotty on my end as far as posting goes.  Blame it on the new job, life, whatever.  🙂  I did want to get on here and thank all of you readers for the year, though.  This blog has brought me a lot of joy, and I look forward to a more balanced approach in 2016.  Happy New Year!

Purple Bridesmaid

Bridal Party Nail Art

I recently was in a wedding that was using purple as the color, and did I match that ish or what?  LOL

OPI Color Paints Purple Perspective

I began by painting all of my nails with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City.  This is hands down, my favorite silver polish.  I actually like it underneath the Color Paints much better than the polish that OPI released with them.  After the silver base dried, I painted all of my nails with one coat of OPI Color Paints Purple Perspective.

Bundle Monster Plate H16

After that dried, I used a Bundle Monster plate, Konad stamper and scraper, and white stamping polish from the Born Pretty Store.  I chose the rose type of image and stamped all of the nails with white.

Originally, I was going to leave my nails purple and white to match the bouquet, but I thought it was too much, and that’s where the OPI Sheer Tints Don’t Violet Me Down (pictured above) came into play.  One coat of that over all of the nails toned down the white perfectly.  And, as a subtle accent, I used a heart rhinestone on each of my ring fingers.

I was honestly very happy with how these turned out.  They matched, and were actually pretty easy to do.  It makes me want to match other Color Paints with Sheer Tints.  🙂

Zoya Pixie Dust

Zoya Pixie Dust

I wanted a quick look for a couple of family get togethers, and this polish came through!  One, it is sparkly, yet subtle.  Two, any nicks from preparing food and washing dishes were easily remedied because this polish is so textured.

Sally Hansen Golden-I

I began with one coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I, because the Zoya is so sheer.  After that, I topped it off with a coat of Zoya Pixie Dust Bar.  It is a neutral, golden, holographic polish that dries sort of matte and textured.  The outdoor pics don’t show much of the shine because it has been cloudy here.

Favorite Nails of the Season!

Autumn Nail Stamping

These fall nails may be my favorite fall nails I have ever done.  They aren’t super flashy or complicated, but I really enjoyed wearing them!  Be ready for lots of pics.  (Also, I am trying to get used to the new WordPress layout, so there’s that.)

Bundle Monster

I used a Bundle Monster plate with a Konad stamper and scraper.

Cancer Moon

But, before we get into all of that, let me tell you that I painted all of my nails with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cancer Moon as a base.  This is a neutral with a golden shine that seemed perfect for this look!

Nail Polish for Stamping

For the stamping, I used these polishes.  From left to right they are: OPI I Sing in Color, Sally Hansen Lustre Shine, Zoya Channing, Julep Valerie, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Jungle Gem, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Branch Out, Sally Hansen Patent Gloss Moto, Sally Hansen Insta Dri Vanished, and China Glaze Don’t Make Me Wine.  All of these worked together beautifully to make the multicolored leaved.  I am posting a few extra pics so you can try to get a fee for the polishes.  A lot of them are duo/multichromes, have shines, etc.

Okay, for the stamping.  In the following pics, I was experimenting with a yellow that didn’t make the cut, but you can ignore that.  🙂

Multicolored Nail Stamping

First, I blob a bit of each color on the plate.

Konad Stamping

Then, I scrape.  The colors do not blur together the way you would think they would.

Here is a stamp on paper to preview the colors.

After I stamped all of my nails I put on a quick topcoat.  (You can see a few smudges from where I should have waited a moment longer.)

Now for the tons of pics!

Subtle Stamps

Nail Stamping

I wanted a nice, deep color for autumn, and then thought that some designs stamped on top would make it perfect.  It was a very subtle look, and hard to get pics of, but I really enjoyed wearing it.

Konad Stamping

I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri Vanished as the base for all of my nails.  I used a black stamping polish from Born Pretty Store, a Konad stamper and scraper, and a plate that I purchased as a random single, so I am not sure of the brand.

I really couldn’t capture the perfection for fall in this color in these photos.  It has a slight golden shimmer along with the deep red.  It is gorgeous!

Multicolored Stamping

Multicolored Nail Stamping

I absolutely love the OPI Color Paints, and recently found that they are good for stamping!

Konad Stamper

I used the bottom of this image plate (and to be honest, I got it as a single off of eBay, so I don’t know what company makes it) and a Konad stamper and scraper.  I have experimented with a couple of other stampers, and it may be because they were way cheap, but this is the one that I really can count on.

OPI Color Paints

I painted all of my toes with the silver base, OPI Silver Canvas.  Then, for the stamping, from left to right I used OPI Turquoise AestheticPen and PinkMagenta MuseIndigo Motif, and Landscape Artist.  I didn’t get any shots while I was stamping (oops) but all I did was paint a little bit of each color and swipe, then stamp.

Excuse the ratty flip flops. :)

The end result was really cute, and I am dying to do it on my hands!

I really love when I find other polishes to stamp with, because I really have a VERY limited (2) selection of real stamping polish.  Also, my laptop is doing weird things, so I hope the photos publish nice and clear for you.
